You are the…

CHAOTIC EATER

Okay, so a little bit of stress never hurt nobody 🤷🏻‍♀️

However, the problem develops when we are constantly wired and our demands begin to outweigh our coping strategies.

Elevated stress levels result in an increase in the stress hormone - cortisol, which if chronically raised, will lend to increased hunger and likewise an increased likelihood to overeat.

You might find yourself eating when you feel stressed as a way to calm the nerves. Perhaps you don't even realise when you are eating or nibbling on something gives you the perfect reason to step away from the stress of everyday life. Stress eating stems from a learnt coping mechanism that may even sometimes become habit.

Your brain is an association-making machine so if you were once stressed and decided to munch on something and instantly felt relief, your brain remembered >> oh! When I eat, I feel calm.

Stress eating might be a sign that it's time to update your coping strategies and introduce a little pause into your day! 😮‍💨
